This discipline will teach you how to use Big Data to evaluate machine performance. You can also use engineering statistics to help you improve upon existing equipment or learn how to make new calculations to innovate new production machinery. If involved in the maintenance part of engineering, you can watch for signs of trouble, perform diagnostics, and identify needed repairs.
5. Social Studies
You might use statistics and quantitative research when studying people groups and individuals. The purpose could include developing improved systems that will serve a large population. Otherwise, it might involve evaluating personal treatments to find effective ways to help people who have a specific set of psychological symptoms. This concentration of study might also involve the analysis of economic data.
You might find a Big Data course program you can complete in as little time as less than 12 months with some classes completable in about 6 weeks or less time. However, you may need to pursue an undergraduate data science degree and eventually obtain a graduate degree depending on your career goals.
