Greg Graffin to publish PhD dissertation

ITHACA, NY October 25, 2004 -- The academic endeavors of Bad Religion frontman Greg Graffin are quite well known, and in response to interest in his dissertation, the singer will publish his work in time for the holiday season.

Greg commented on the band’s website:

As many of you know, my interests outside of Bad Religion have centered around scientific research for much of my life. Many of you have requested that I make my research findings available and, finally, I am happy to announce the release of my recently completed study on evolution and its conflict with religion. I really appreciate the genuine interest shown by the thoughtful fans of Bad Religion.

Phil Spector charged with murder

LOS ANGELES September 27, 2004 -- Famed producer Phil Spector was indicted today in the murder of actress Lana Clarkson. On February 3, 2003, the actress was found shot in the face at Spector’s home in Alhambra, near Los Angeles. The case is set to go to trial as early as December 16th, with Spector facing a sentence of life without parole. The 64-year-old Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is now working with Mafia kingpin John Gotti’s attorney, Bruce Cutler.

The Bronx-born Spector, renowned for his “Wall of Sound” production style, was behind such famed ‘60s singles as The Righteous Brothers’ “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” and Ike and Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High.” Among his production credits is The Beatles’ Let It Be. He famously pulled a gun on The Ramones during the recording of 1979’s End Of The Century.
