Legend' Sets Off for Jungle in the Sky
by
Roggie McFadden
PLAYA DEL REY, Calif. -- December 10, 2002 -- Dave
'The Sleeveless Legend' Park passed away last Friday night. He was
discovered on Saturday morning in his van parked in the back lot
at Prince o' Whales where he had been a long-time regular. He was
in his 50s.
'The Sleeveless Legend' is mourned by J.R., the
crowd at Mo's Sports Bar, and among the Playa del Rey community.
Prince o' Whales down the street from Mo's has been
especially affected by the 'Sleeveless' departure. Dave was recently
banished from the burg 'n' beer joint for allegedly scaring and
'creeping out' LMU chicks at POW's packed $1.50 Beer Tuesdays.
According to Gianni Rando, local authority on all
things 'Sleeveless,' Dave Park served in the United States military
and fought in 'the war' of his period.
A 'Sleeveless' memorial service was held in Dave's
honor on November 26 at La Marina Restaurant. Mourners wore badges
with a picture of Dave's smiling visage from years back.
No accurate description of the van belonging to
'The Sleeveless Legend' is presently available.
